Hosted by the Royal Family of Kanker, this immersive expedition takes you from the tranquil sal forests of Amarkantak to the tribal heartland of Bastar — blending royal hospitality, tribal encounters, nature walks, safaris, waterfalls, art villages, and heritage palaces.

Discover ancient traditions, pristine nature, and authentic rural life — all while staying in heritage palaces, jungle resorts, and eco-retreats that reflect the soul of central India.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival at Raipur → Keonchi (Amarkantak)

Distance: 260 km / 6 hrs

Arrive at Raipur and transfer to Keonchi (Amarkantak). In the evening, enjoy a guided nature walk through the sal jungles, followed by live tribal music and a welcome dinner under the stars.

  • Overnight: Sal Valley Resort, Keonchi

Day 2 – Jungle Safari & River Confluence Visit

Wake up early for a sal forest safari, spotting deer, leopards, bison, and colorful birds.

After breakfast, relax at the resort. Later, drive to Mandwarani, where the Narmada and Son rivers meet — a serene and scenic natural confluence.

Day 3 – Birdwatching & Herbal Village Visit

Short local excursions

Early morning visit to Bhanwartank Lake for birdwatching and angling. Breakfast by the lakeside. Post lunch, explore the Herbal Medicinal Centre of the Forest Department.

Day 4 – Keonchi → Kanker Palace

Distance: 280 km / 7 hrs

Depart after breakfast for Kanker Palace. En route lunch at Raipur or picnic stop.

Arrive to a royal welcome, followed by an evening of folk music and interaction with the royal hosts.

Day 5 – Muria Tribal Village Experience

Visit a Deer-Horn Muria tribal village to experience the unique Gotul youth tradition. Enjoy local cuisine and toddy, hosted by the community.

Day 6 – Leisure at Kanker & Farmhouse Experience

Spend the morning at leisure — read, paint, or enjoy the palace gardens. Later, take a boat ride on a nearby lake.

Optional overnight at the royal farmhouse in a village, experiencing fishing and rural life.

Day 7 – Kanker → Kondagaon → Jagdalpur (Bastar)

Distance: 180 km / 4 hrs

Travel to Jagdalpur, with stops at Kondagaon art villages known for bell metal, wrought iron, and terracotta crafts. Visit a tribal market en route.

Day 8 – Bastar Tribal Exploration & Kanger Valley National Park

Meet the Bison-Horn Maria tribe, known for their vibrant dances and handicrafts. Visit Kanger Valley National Park to explore limestone caves or Tirathgarh Waterfalls.

Day 9 – Chitrakote Waterfalls / Barsur Temples / Tribal Markets

Choose between exploring Chitrakote Falls, India's widest, or Barsur, the ancient "City of Temples."

Day 10 – Jagdalpur Heritage & Museum Tour

Visit the Bastar Palace, Anthropological Museum, and local craft centers. After lunch, explore a tribal haat (market).

Day 11 – Return to Kanker via Artisan Villages

Distance: 180 km / 4 hrs

Drive back to Kanker Palace, stopping at tribal craft communities on the way.

Day 12 – Heritage Leisure Day at Kanker Palace

Enjoy a slow morning and explore the palace library, organic farm, or royal kitchens. Optionally join a local cooking session with the royal family.

Day 13 – Kanker → Chhuikhadan Palace

Transfer to Chhuikhadan Palace, another heritage residence of royal lineage. Interact with the hosts and discover their family history.

Day 14 – Exploration & Farewell Dinner

Relax and explore the surroundings. In the evening, enjoy a farewell royal dinner hosted by the family.
